Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) Requirements
As of September 2nd this year, all Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) required by the State Water Resources Control Board’s (SWRCB’s) California Construction General Permit (CGP) must be prepared by a Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD) who, in addition to possessing one of 5 underlying professional certifications, has attended a State-sponsored 3-day training course and has passed an exam proctored by the Regional Water Quality Control Boards. Also by this date, anyone appointed as a Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) to implement a SWPPP must have attended a State-sponsored 2-day training course and have passed an exam proctored by the RWQCB. Recognizing this, the BIA has sponsored two of these QSD/QSP training sessions by the Golden State Stormwater Trainers, comprised of local BIA members and associates, the latest July 26,27 & 28 so that BIA members and associates could meet the requirements.
